Private German Lessons · Ruggell, Liechtenstein
Speak German like
you belong here.
One-to-one lessons with Myriam Mikus — a personal curriculum, real conversation, and a teacher who is invested in your progress. From your first Grüezi to your citizenship exam.
Why it works
Not a course. A curriculum of one.
Every lesson is designed around one student — you. Your goals, your pace, your vocabulary, your life in Liechtenstein.
Built around your goal
A job interview, the citizenship exam, small talk with neighbours — we define the destination first, then design every lesson to move you toward it.
Real conversation, day one
You speak from the first minute of the first lesson. Confidence isn't the reward at the end of learning German — it's the method.
Local by design
German for life here: the office, the Amt, the doctor, the bakery. You learn the standard German exams require — and how to understand the dialect you'll actually hear.
Progress you can measure
Clear CEFR milestones, regular reviews, and honest feedback. You always know exactly where you stand — and what comes next.
Your teacher
Great teaching is personal. Myriam never lets it be anything less.
Myriam Mikus has spent more than a decade teaching German to adults from all over the world — bankers, engineers, nurses, founders, parents. She holds a certification in teaching German as a foreign language (DaF) and has guided students from their very first words to C2 mastery and passed exams.
She lives and teaches in Ruggell, which means your German is never abstract: it's the German of this valley, its workplaces, and its people.
- Certified DaF teacher — German as a foreign language, levels A1–C2
- 10+ years of one-to-one teaching experience
- Exam preparation: Goethe, telc, ÖSD & naturalisation requirements
- Teaches in German and English — explanations always land
Why one-to-one
Apps teach you words.
Myriam teaches you to speak.
A 500-day streak is impressive. Being unable to answer your neighbour after 500 days is not. Here's the difference a real teacher makes.
Language apps
- Streaks that measure opening the app — not speaking German
- Multiple-choice answers nobody says out loud
- The same sentences for a tourist and a private banker
- Nobody notices when you plateau — or quietly quit
- No preparation for the exams Liechtenstein actually requires
- Sixty minutes of real, guided conversation — every session
- A curriculum built around your job, your goals, your life
- Correction in the moment, before mistakes become habits
- A teacher who notices, adjusts, and holds you accountable
- Targeted preparation for Goethe, telc, ÖSD and naturalisation tests
Why here
The best classroom for German
is the country itself.
Total immersion, tiny country
Around 40,000 people, one language of daily life. Every commute, every coffee, every conversation becomes practice — if you have the foundation to use it.
German opens the doors
Residence, naturalisation and many careers in Liechtenstein come with real German requirements. Meeting them isn't optional — being well prepared is.
A career accelerator
In banking, industry and public life, confident German moves you from “the international colleague” to a trusted voice in the room.
The method
Five steps. One clear path to fluency.
No generic textbook march. A sequence designed once — for you — and refined every single week.
01
Listen
A free 30-minute consultation. Your goals, your timeline, an honest assessment of your current level.
02
Design
Myriam maps a personal curriculum to CEFR milestones — and to your calendar, not an institute's.
03
Practice
Weekly one-to-one sessions in Ruggell or online. Real conversation from the first minute, precise correction throughout.
04
Live it
Assignments woven into your real week: the email to your landlord, small talk at the office, the call to the Amt.
05
Prove it
Milestone reviews and full mock exams. You walk into the real test already knowing you can pass it.
Who it's for
Whatever brought you to Liechtenstein,
German takes you further.
New in Liechtenstein
Arrive properly. Handle contracts, authorities and first friendships in German — and feel at home months sooner.
Career German
Meetings, presentations, negotiations. Industry vocabulary for finance, industry and healthcare — and interview coaching that gets offers.
Citizenship & permits
Structured preparation for the language requirements of residence and naturalisation — calm, thorough, and on schedule.
Exam preparation
Goethe, telc or ÖSD — the right level, the right strategy, and enough mock exams that the real one feels familiar.
Everyday confidence
The doctor, the parent evening, the neighbour across the fence. Stop rehearsing sentences in your head — just say them.
C1–C2 refinement
Already fluent? Polish nuance, register and writing until your German stops being “very good for a foreigner” — and is simply very good.

FAQ
Questions, answered honestly.
Absolutely — many of Myriam's most successful students started with nothing but “Hallo”. The first lessons build a practical survival kit for daily life, so you feel useful progress within weeks, not months.
In Myriam's teaching studio at Spiegelstrasse 43 in Ruggell, at your workplace anywhere in Liechtenstein and the nearby Rhine valley, or online. Most students mix formats freely.
Yes — full video lessons with the same materials, the same personal curriculum and the same corrections. Many students start online before relocating and switch to in-person lessons after arriving.
With one to two sessions a week plus the practice woven into your daily life, students typically reach B1 from zero in about 9–12 months, and B2 roughly a year after that. At your free consultation you'll get an honest estimate for your situation — not a marketing number.
You learn standard High German — it's what every exam requires and what everyone here understands. Alongside it, Myriam trains your ear for the Alemannic dialect you'll hear on the street, so real conversations never catch you off guard.
Goethe-Zertifikat, telc and ÖSD at all levels, plus the German requirements connected to Liechtenstein residence permits and naturalisation. Preparation always includes full mock exams under real conditions.
Naturalisation in Liechtenstein includes demonstrating German skills and civic knowledge; the exact requirements depend on your path and should be confirmed with the authorities. Myriam prepares you for the language side thoroughly — and coaches the civic-test content in German, which doubles as excellent practice.
Single sessions are CHF 130 for 60 minutes; the ten-session package brings it to CHF 119 per session. Materials are always included, and the first consultation is free. Details on the pricing page.
Better: a free 30-minute consultation including a level assessment and a plan sketch. You'll know exactly how Myriam works before you spend a franc.
Very. Early-morning, lunchtime and evening slots exist precisely because most students work full-time. Sessions can be rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours in advance.
Cancel or move any session free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice. Later cancellations are charged, because that hour was reserved exclusively for you — the same respect protects your slot, too.
No — one-to-one is the whole point. The only exception: couples or two colleagues at the same level may share sessions on request. Beyond two people, personal attention stops being personal.
Lessons are held in German as much as possible — that's how you learn. When a concept needs unpacking, Myriam switches to fluent English so nothing stays fuzzy.
Yes. Personalised worksheets, audio, session notes and exam practice are all part of the price. If an official exam workbook makes sense for you, Myriam will recommend one — that's typically the only extra cost.
Gladly — many do. You'll receive proper invoices for reimbursement or direct corporate billing, and Myriam can design the curriculum around your role's specific vocabulary.
Yes. CV and cover-letter polishing, interview simulations with feedback, and the professional vocabulary of your field. Several students received offers within weeks of interview coaching.
Tailored practice, yes — around 20–30 minutes a day, built from your real life: the email you must send anyway, the podcast for your commute. It never feels like school, and it's always negotiable with your calendar.
Send a message through the contact form. Myriam replies personally within 24 hours to arrange your free consultation — usually much sooner.

Why students stay — and why they succeed.
Myriam didn't set out to run a language school, and she still doesn't. What she built instead is quieter and rarer: a one-to-one practice where every curriculum is written for exactly one person, and rewritten the moment that person changes.
Her students are engineers who need to defend designs in German, bankers whose clients expect flawless emails, parents who want to understand the teacher at the Elternabend, and newcomers who simply refuse to live in a country whose language they can't speak. What they share is a teacher who prepares for every session as if it were the only one she teaches that day.
Living in Ruggell, Myriam teaches the German of this valley — the standard German that exams demand, and the ear for Alemannic dialect that daily life quietly requires. Her students don't just pass tests. They stop translating in their heads. They start belonging.
“My students don't learn German for a certificate. They learn it for a conversation with a neighbour, a job interview, a new life. That is what we practise — everything else follows.” — Myriam Mikus
